This is blog I started about 6 years ago within my regular blog about costume design, and that has grown enough that I wanted to have a separate space for it.
It’s blog for everything text based art related, preferably the two together- in visual arts, theater, opera, anything else that inspires me or grabs my fancy, a bit of fairytale related everything and my own sketches, collages and ramblings. A place to explore inspiration and investigation, look at how text informs, juxtaposes, underpins, overturns or obscures the image. I’ve tried to find artists that do some or all of these things, that use language as another layer of meaning, in the depths of their work.
When googling text-based art, I couldn’t find any definitive source, and I created this, and I hope you enjoy reading it, as much as I’ve needed to write it.
